365 Days (2020) is a Polish erotic thriller film directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes. It is based on the first novel of a trilogy by Blanka Lipińska. The story follows a young woman from Warsaw who is in a relationship but ends up falling for a Sicilian man. He kidnaps her and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him.
After a meeting with black market dealers, Sicilian Mafia member Massimo Torricelli sees a woman named Laura Biel on a beach. The dealers shoot Massimo and his father; his father dies, but Massimo survives. Five years later, Massimo leads the Torricelli crime family. In Warsaw, Laura is unhappy with her boyfriend, Martin. While celebrating her birthday in Italy, Massimo kidnaps her.At his villa, Massimo tells Laura about his obsession with her since the shooting. He gives her 365 days to fall in love with him, promising not to touch her without consent, though he is physically and sexually aggressive.
Laura resists Massimo, teasing him and refusing sex. Massimo then cuffs her to a bed and makes her watch him with another woman. Later, he threatens but does not follow through with raping her and takes her to a club. There, a rival mafia member gropes Laura, leading Massimo to start a gang war. On a yacht the next morning, Laura and Massimo argue, and she falls into the water. He saves her, and she realizes she loves him. They have sex.
At a masquerade ball, a woman named Anna threatens Laura. Massimo admits he left Anna when he saw Laura at the airport. Laura goes to Warsaw to visit family while Massimo finishes business. In Warsaw, Laura reconnects with her friend Olga and runs into Martin. Martin tries to reconcile, but Massimo appears, and Laura chooses Massimo. They have sex, and the next morning, he proposes. She accepts but wants to hide his occupation from her parents. Back in Italy, tensions rise. Laura feels unwell but ignores it. She and Massimo plan their wedding, with Olga as her bridesmaid. Laura tells Olga she is pregnant and plans to tell Massimo.
Meanwhile, Massimo’s associate, Mario, learns the rival mafia plans to kill Laura. Laura’s car enters a tunnel and disappears. Realizing the danger, Massimo breaks down.
