Srikanth (2024) is an Indian Hindi-language biographical film on the life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. Srikanth Bolla was an Indian entrepreneur. He gained prominence as the founder of Bollant Industries, established in 2012. The company employs unskilled and differently-abled individuals to create eco-friendly products. The film chronicles Srikanth’s struggles and achievements despite facing adversity.
Born visually impaired in Seetharamapuram village, Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth faced numerous challenges. His father initially celebrated his birth and named him after cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth. However, dismay followed when he discovered his son was sightless. In a moment of despair, he dug a hole to bury Srikanth, but his mother saved him. Srikanth also endured bullying at the local school, despite his brilliance.
The plot moves to Hyderabad, where Srikanth joins a special school and excels. However, his arrogance leads to his expulsion. His teacher, Devika, then mentors him, helping him file a court case to study science despite scoring 98%. She also encourages him to apply abroad, and he becomes the first international visually impaired student at MIT after being denied entry to IIT.
At MIT, two students support him in achieving his dreams. During college, he meets Swati through social media, and she becomes fascinated with him. After graduation, Swati, now his girlfriend, encourages him to return to India to realize his dreams. With his mentor’s help, he starts a computer institute, which fails. Later, he sets up Bollant Industries with his business partner, Ravi Mantha, providing jobs mainly to the disabled. Despite some misunderstandings with his partner, Srikanth finally achieves the success he hoped for with continued guidance from his mentor.
