The Long Game (2023) is an American historical drama film adaptation of Humberto G. Garcia’s 2010 novel Mustang Miracle. Julio Quintana directed this film. Five young Mexican-American caddies, driven by their love for the game, decided to learn how to play golf. They created their own course in the heart of the South Texas desert. With outdated and inferior equipment and no professional instruction, they persevered and eventually competed against wealthy all-white teams.
Remarkably, they won the 1957 Texas State High School Golf Championship. The film, akin to “A Field of Dreams” but set in the world of golf, showcases their inspiring triumph.
